A child of the fifties, I grew up in the fine city of Norwich. Although very much a city girl I would always be drawn to the countryside not too far from my home where I would play and explore until dusk. This early experience would influence my later life and work, my love of nature. I began my art education with inspirational teachers at school followed by an art foundation course. I then moved away to complete a BA(Hons) degree at the West Surrey College of Art & Design in Farnham. Reading University and a PGCE course completed my life as a student. I enjoyed a busy nineteen years at Finborough School in Suffolk where I ran the art department and co-ordinated the art and festivals for ISIS East. During this time I married Stephen. In my mid-forties I decided to escape from my school-teaching career and combine my first loves; walking and painting. The mountains and seashores of Wales beckoned me away from the flat landscape of East Anglia and my youth. The husband happily tagged along! My life as an artist began.
